Employees and students sample chili during the third annual Pamplin College of Business Chili Cook Off. The event raised $349 for the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign.
On November 3, the college hosted its third annual Chili Cook Off. 12 different chili entrées were provided by employees and student organizations including Pamplin Reinventing Social Media (PRISM), Delta Sigma Pi, and the Pamplin Multicultural Diversity Council.
Three guest chefs judged each entry on a variety of criteria including aroma, heat balance, color, appearance, flavor, and consistency. Reed Buckland, office manager and fiscal technician for the Department of Hospitality and Tourism, received the Chef’s Choice award.
Each year, the winner of the People’s Choice award selects the CVC charity that will receive the funds raised by the Chili Cook Off. This year’s winner, Jodi Jennings, administrative assistant for the Office of Undergraduate Programs, picked Toys for Tots as the recipient.
